Assistant/Associate Professor - Occupational Therapy
About The Position
The Occupational Therapy Department at Tennessee State University invites applications for a 12-month, tenure-track position of Assistant/Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy. We seek applicants who have practice experience in adult outpatient rehabilitation. In addition, successful applicants will be competent in a secondary role of teaching/supervising students in the pro bono outpatient Tiger Clinic. Less frequent job responsibilities will include: student advising; curriculum review and development; program evaluation; student recruitment and admissions; participation in service and research activities. This opening offers the incumbent an opportunity to join the collegial faculty and staff at one of 7 OT programs housed in an Historically Black College/University (HBCU), and located along the Cumberland River just 10 minutes from the heart of downtown Nashville, TN. Requirements
- Entry-level or Post-professional doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a combination of the following: bachelor's or master's degree in occupational therapy AND a doctorate in related field.
- Currently licensed or eligible for TN occupational therapy license
- Evidence of initial NBCOT certification. Current NBCOT certification is not required.
- Teaching experience at the university level
- At least 5 years of occupational therapy practice experience
- A commitment to teamwork and student success.
Nice To Haves
- Practice experience in adult outpatient occupational therapy and/or CHT credential
- Experience supervising fieldwork students
