About The Position

Arkansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a clinical assistant or associate professor in Small Animal Emergency Medicine. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position incorporates clinical work (50%), research/scholarly activity and service. Teaching of DVM students will be in a competency-based veterinary curriculum incorporating lecture, lab and small group learning.

DVM or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Board certification in a small animal specialty (preferred) (e.g., ACVECC)
Two years of teaching experience (preferred)
Experience in competency-based veterinary education (preferred)

Responsibilities

Teach year 1-4 DVM students the principles and practice of emergency medicine in the classroom, clinical skills laboratory, and clinical practice settings
Provide excellent patient care and clinical service, including communication with clients and referring veterinarians
Contribute to competency-based curriculum development with a focus on small animal emergency medicine across years 1-4 of the DVM curriculum
Contribute to objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs) and other skills-based assessments
Contribute to college and university committees and/or serve on regional or national professional organizations
Contribute to scholarly endeavors through collaborative educational research and/or educational innovations
Mentor and advise DVM students
Other duties as assigned
