The Department of Forest Biomaterials at North Carolina State University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor with interest and experience in Engineering (paper, chemical, mechanical, biomaterials, or related). The position is a 9-month appointment with responsibilities in the following realms: Research (45 %), Teaching (45 %) and Service (10 %). The successful candidate is expected to teach core classes in one of the largest and most successful paper science and engineering programs in the world. The candidate is also expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program in areas such as: alkaline pulping and bleaching, using both traditional and emerging processes and technology; chemical recovery; biomass conversion; biorefinery process and product development; value-added biobased products and the sustainable bioeconomy.
