Morehouse College Division of Business and Economics (BE) seeks to fill a Assistant/Associate Professorship in Accounting in the Department of Business Administration dedicated to addressing health equity, health disparities, or community well-being through innovative teaching and pedagogy, scholarship or creative work, and community engagement. Leadership opportunities also exist. This position contributes to the Divisional vision and mission of Purpose-Driven Business, and promoting Entrepreneurial, Business, and Economic solutions to social problems that advance Black communities and the African Diaspora. We invite applications for a full-time position starting in the Fall Semester of 2026. The position has been endowed by a generous contribution from a College donor. However, there are no programming funds for this position. The BE Division is accredited by the AACSB and is the largest division at Morehouse College with more than 750 students. Departments in the division include Business Administration and Economics. The Department of Business Administration offers the BA degree with four concentrations that include Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing. Minors in the department include accounting, business administration, entrepreneurship, and sales. Accounting was the original focus of the department dating back to 1938 and has a history of producing graduates earning their CPAs. Morehouse was recently ranked by US News and World Report as the #2 HBCU Business program in the nation.

  • Effective teaching in the classroom
  • Ensuring concentration goals and curricula align with divisional mission and goals, and industry needs
  • Participating in outreach activities with students, external stakeholders, finance, real estate, investment banking professionals and colleagues across the college
  • Assisting with AACSB and SACSCOC accreditation and program assessment in the finance concentration
  • Maintaining a successful record of scholarship and research
  • Assisting in advising student organizations
  • Successful research portfolio in Accounting
  • Prepared to engage with diverse students across a liberal arts curriculum
  • A research-based Ph.D. degree in Accounting from a full-time, AACSB-accredited institution
  • Candidates from non-AACSB accredited institutions will not be considered
  • Relevant certifications (i.e. CPA)
  • Strong record of continuing academic productivity in accounting scholarship
  • Effective teaching
  • Ability to contribute to a team and collaborate with faculty within and across business disciplines
