Our goal is to continue to elevate this department and to enable an environment that provides the best possible care for patients with all types of neurosurgical conditions. The Department is hiring a dynamic and collaborative research faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We are seeking a scientist/engineer with a history of grant funding and active grants whose focus is translational research on devices. We are eager to expand our program in research in functional neurosurgery and/or administering other neurosurgical treatments. Expertise in machine learning and biomarkers will also be considered. With the ability to focus on this unique expertise, this position will deliver exceptional results and contribute to our goal of improving the lives of our patients through clinical care, research and training. Duties & Responsibilities * Develop a nationally recognized and continuously funded research program in the field of Neurosurgery. * Lead a cutting-edge basic or translational research program within their subspecialty area. * Serve as mentors to research and clinical trainees, fostering academic excellence within the department and institution. * Demonstrate scholarly activity by publishing results in peer-reviewed journals. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers across the University of Arizona's robust academic and research ecosystem. * Participate as a productive member of the Department and the College through impactful scholarly work and good citizenship. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: * Knowledge and experience related to area of specialty. * Teaching skills. * Grant preparation and management skills. Minimum Qualifications * PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a biomedical field. * Demonstrated track record of distinction in research in an academic research department.
