The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at North Carolina A&T State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Engineering. Candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered. We aim to recruit innovative and enthusiastic teachers and researchers whose work strengthens the University's goals of excellence in next-generation networked, cyber-physical, and intelligent systems. We seek candidates whose research contributes to advanced computing architectures and provides new paradigms in the areas of edge computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), Internet of Things (IoT), and cloud-based computing, and other related areas that support secure, connected, and data-driven applications. Specific research and teaching areas include, but are not limited to: Custom hardware architectures, including AI/ML accelerators, and domain-specific computing methods Design and/or optimization for edge, fog, cloud, and distributed computing systems, including ML optimization Design and/or optimization for emerging and/or existing computing paradigms, including neuromorphic computing and quantum computing System architectures for IoT, cyber-physical systems, and connected systems Hardware and systems design for autonomous, medical, and/or real-time applications Prototyping of custom architectures via FPGA or ASIC implementation Secure, trusted, reliable, and/or resilient computing systems North Carolina A & T State University is a public land grant high research activity institution that is committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is the largest department in the College of Engineering with over 400 students in its four degree programs.
