About The Position

Western Kentucky University (WKU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible, nine-month faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Behavior Analysis to support the development and launch of a new Behavior Analysis program within the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. This position offers an opportunity to play a key role in designing a high-quality academic program that integrates research, teaching, and community engagement to meet the growing demand for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). The successful candidate will join a collaborative, student-centered faculty committed to evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary partnership, and preparing professionals to serve individuals with developmental and behavioral needs across diverse settings.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or closely related field (ABD considered if degree completion by date of hire)
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or eligibility for certification within one year of appointment
  • Additional qualifications for each rank are as follows:
  • Assistant Professor: Candidate is expected to demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and have an active and productive program of scholarly research.
  • Associate Professor: Candidate must have 6+ years experience in higher education, demonstrate excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, evidence of sustained scholarly activity including publications and presentations, and a record of service to the institution and profession.
  • Full Professor: Candidate must have earned tenure at another institution, have 12+ years experience in higher education, demonstrate excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, evidence of sustained scholarly activity including publications and presentations, and a record of service to the institution and profession.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in curriculum development, accreditation, and implementation of the new Behavior Analysis program
  • Teach graduate courses in applied behavior analysis and undergraduate courses in behavior
  • Establish and sustain a robust research and publication agenda, including pursuit of external funding
  • Supervise student fieldwork and practicum experiences in accordance with BACB standards
  • Advise and mentor students to foster academic and professional growth
  • Engage in service to the department, college, university, and professional community
