Concordia University is needing an Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Business Administration Emphasis in Accounting who wants to be a part of this mission. Requirements

  • PhD. Preferred. A master's degree or higher in accounting, or a master's degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate credit hours in accounting, is required.
  • Candidates with only a master's degree must be willing to pursue and complete a terminal degree.
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably at the community college or university level.
  • Desire to develop professional relationships with students, where the faculty member is seen by all students as an instructor, mentor, and advisor.
  • Industry experience, preferably in accounting or a related field.
  • A candidate who has passed the CPA exam is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference will be given to those who have a CPA with a record of successful teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Active membership in a Christian congregation is required. Lutheran Church Missouri Synod membership preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses, especially upper-level accounting courses, entrepreneurship courses and other business courses, or general education courses that best fit the skills and interest of the candidate and the needs of the Department of Business and Concordia University.
  • Engage in curriculum development, course and program assessment, student advising, departmental activities, and assistance with student recruitment.
  • Support the growth of the Department of Business, and the University, with innovative ideas, leadership, and assistance in planning and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to enthusiastically embrace the mission and vision of Concordia University, Nebraska.
  • Remain current in areas of scholarship and teaching responsibilities.
  • Work with colleagues from multiple departments in service to the university.
