The Department of Chemistry, Geoscience, and Physics in the College of Science and Mathematics at Tarleton State University invites applications for a 9-month faculty position as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Environmental Science. Based on Tarleton's main campus in Stephenville, Texas, this role includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, supporting the expansion of the B.S. and M.S. programs, and establishing a successful, externally funded research program in areas such as environmental data science, the energy-water nexus, sustainability science, or site remediation. Depending on the area of expertise, responsibilities may also include supporting the College's new Ph.D. program. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching, maintain an impactful research program, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, actively engage in mentoring and guiding doctoral students through their academic and research endeavors, fostering a supportive and enriching environment within our PhD program, and participate in the necessary operation of the institution. Work hours are typically Mon-Fri, 8 AM-5 PM, or as dictated by teaching and institutional needs.
