About The Position

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering seeks applicants at all ranks with a distinguished academic record and exceptional potential for creative chemical and biological engineering research. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and contributing to curriculum updates and innovations to educate a diverse student body; mentoring graduate students and supervising their research; developing and directing a well-recognized and extramurally funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; contributing to professional and public service; participating in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools, and colleges. The Chemical and Biological Engineering Department has a long tradition of academic excellence in research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; educating, mentoring, and inspiring future leaders; conducting research that is of vital importance to society; and serving Wisconsin, our nation, and the world through professional pursuits. A consistently strong emphasis on fundamentals provides our students with the skills they need to succeed in their careers. Many of our graduates are leaders in chemical engineering in both academia and industry. Requirements

  • PhD in Chemical and Biological Engineering or a related field
  • Excellent academic record
  • Vision for an innovative, significant and impactful research program
  • Skills to implement the research program
  • Commitment to high quality undergraduate and graduate instruction and mentoring
  • Experience and scholarly credentials that meet the tenure standards of the UW-Madison Divisional Committee and the College of Engineering for Associate and Full professor candidates
