About The Position

The Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for a Professor of Engineering Practice at open rank (Assistant/Associate/Full). Purdue University in Indianapolis seeks to attract exceptional candidates with teaching and educational interests and expertise in all areas of Industrial Engineering. The successful candidate will teach core undergraduate courses across Industrial Engineering and be responsible for instruction of the Industry Capstone Design Experience within the Professional Master's Program (PMP) in Logistics Systems Engineering program at Purdue University. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., or M.S. with more than five years of professional experience, in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Human Factors, Manufacturing, Systems Engineering or a related field by the employment start date. Ideal candidates will have relevant industry experience with demonstrable evidence of leadership. In addition to instructional duties, the successful candidate will work effectively with industry partners and faculty, provide mentoring to students and other program support staff, and perform service both at the School and the University levels as needed. They will have demonstrated skills in innovative pedagogical techniques, project/problem-based learning, and industry applications of current methodologies. New faculty members will become part of a vibrant community of scholars who are committed to Rethinking IE and helping guide the profession to impact societal grand challenges of the 21st century.
