About The Position

The Football Assistant Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the football program through a combination of coaching, player development, and operational assistance. This position is responsible for contributing to on-field instruction, skill development, and film analysis, while also providing data-driven insights to enhance game planning and strategy. Additional responsibilities include supporting recruiting efforts and assisting with administrative tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of football concepts, instructional techniques, analytics, and technology, along with a commitment to fostering student-athlete growth and team success. Responsibilities

  • Assist in position skill instruction during practices and drills, providing real-time coaching cues and corrections.
  • Assist with weekly position group meetings focused on technique, assignments, and film breakdown.
  • Develop and implement individual development plans for assigned student-athletes, including goal setting and progress tracking.
  • Create and maintain instructional materials such as playbook sections, drill guides, and opponent scouting cut-ups.
  • Provide feedback post-practice and post-game using observation, data, and film analysis to guide athlete improvement.
  • Assist in game-day coaching, including sideline or booth communication for technique and assignment adjustments.
  • Provide assistance to Head Coach, Coordinators, General Manager, Chief of Staff, Director of Football Operations, and Director of On-Campus Recruiting as assigned.
  • Type and print documents created by assistant coaches.
  • Copy and distribute weekly opponent scouting reports.
  • Assist academic support staff with class checking of current student-athletes as required.
  • Monitor team curfew during pre-season training camp as required.
  • Lifestyle monitoring of student-athletes.
  • Assist with maintenance of prospect database.
  • Assist recruiting coaches with campus tours during official visits and transport prospects to/from the airport.
  • Provide tours of facilities and campus to prospects during unofficial visits.
  • Chart play calls/plays and compile statistical data during games as directed.
  • Budget accountability.
  • Provide creativity and input throughout the recruiting process to maintain team culture.
  • Other duties as assigned.
