About The Position

The Assistant Admissions Coordinator plays a crucial role in the Health Care Facility by ensuring a smooth and welcoming admission process for new customers. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at facilitating the admission of patients into the facility. The coordinator will be responsible for verifying benefits, which includes checking insurance coverage and ensuring that all necessary authorizations are obtained prior to admission. This is a vital step in the admissions process, as it helps to streamline the experience for both the facility and the patients. Upon the arrival of new customers, the Assistant Admissions Coordinator will be the first point of contact, welcoming them and guiding them through the admission paperwork. This includes explaining the necessary forms and ensuring that all consents are signed appropriately. Attention to detail is essential in this role, as the coordinator will also be responsible for entering patient information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system accurately. This data entry is critical for maintaining up-to-date patient records and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in setting up patient rooms prior to their arrival, ensuring that everything is in order for a comfortable stay. This may involve coordinating room changes as needed and answering telephone inquiries related to admissions. The ideal candidate for this position should possess strong customer service skills, be detail-oriented, and have a basic understanding of medical terminology. While prior experience in a medical setting is preferred, it is not a strict requirement. This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment within a leader in senior care, making a positive impact on the lives of patients and their families.
