About The Position

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement the activities program for residents.
  • Recognize and respond to the needs of residents.
  • Communicate a sense of caring and dignity for residents.
  • Plan, schedule, and implement internal and external monthly activity programs.
  • Prepare and submit a monthly activities calendar and newsletter.
  • Submit press releases to local newspapers.
  • Coordinate seasonal decorations for the facility.
  • Assess needs and maintain an adequate supply of materials for activity programs.
  • Schedule guest speakers and entertainers for the facility.
  • Negotiate rates and set up details for events.
  • Plan and schedule Resident Council meetings.
  • Coordinate refreshments for functions with the Food and Dining Director.
  • Ensure proper setup for all activities, including equipment and staffing.
  • Coordinate worship services with local churches.
  • Promote direct care staff activities.
  • Plan and implement evening and weekend functions regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with licensure requirements for activities.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities.
  • Organize and schedule community events related to residents' interests.
  • Recruit, schedule, and supervise assistants and volunteers.
  • Ensure the safety of residents under supervision.
  • Complete Incident Reports for any incidents involving residents or staff.
  • Prepare thank-you notes for individuals or groups assisting with activities.
  • Visit and interview new residents within 48 hours of move-in.
  • Conduct tours of the facility for prospective residents and families.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and in-service training sessions.
  • Perform all duties assigned in a timely and professional manner.
