About The Position

The Assistant Accounting Manager supports the financial operations of the organization while developing the analytical, operational, and leadership capabilities required for future advancement into an Accounting Manager role. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting and compliance activities, and contributing to process improvement initiatives that strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency. The role will progressively assume ownership of key accounting functions, financial reporting support, audit coordination, and cross-department financial collaboration. Over time, this position will play an increasing role in financial analysis, process leadership, and decision support to help ensure the integrity of financial data and the organization’s long-term financial health.

  • Experience with accounting systems required
  • Clear background check and drug screening
  • Ability for occasional travel to other locations in Springfield, Harrisonville and Lake of the Ozarks

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and enter financial transactions
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Process invoices, payments, and bank deposits
  • Reconcile accounts, statements, and supporting documentation
  • Track vendor records and required tax documentation
  • Maintain asset and property tracking records
  • Monitor purchase orders and support documentation
  • Support job costing and financial tracking for projects
  • Maintain financial documentation and filing systems
  • Assist in preparation of monthly and periodic financial reports
  • Support reconciliation and validation of financial data
  • Identify discrepancies and investigate variances
  • Assist with sales tax reporting and financial schedules
  • Prepare supporting schedules for leadership reporting
  • Assist with commission calculations and tracking
  • Contribute to financial data analysis to support operational decisions
  • Assist in preparation for internal and external audits
  • Maintain organized financial documentation and supporting schedules
  • Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support monitoring and documentation of internal controls
  • Assist in year-end close preparation and documentation management
  • Evaluate accounting workflows for efficiency and accuracy
  • Assist in documenting procedures and financial processes
  • Recommend improvements to financial tracking and reporting systems
  • Support implementation of accounting system enhancements
  • Participate in cross-functional process improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to provide financial insight
