About The Position

Reuters is hiring an Assistant Account Executive (AAE) to support and help grow a portfolio of client and agency relationships across the financial category as well as net new B2B business. This is a hybrid sr. planner/jr. seller role: you will split your time between sales planning on our largest strategic partnerships and growth accounts (5-10 fluid accounts) and to help develop strong integrated media responses and proposals to win new business. You'll partner closely with senior sellers and cross-functional teams to drive revenue, deliver excellent campaigns, and support larger strategic partnerships across the accounts you’ll support and new business that you’ll drive. About the Role As an Assistant Account Executive on Reuters' Digital Sales team, you will: Support sellers in a Sr Planner role across our largest strategic partnerships in a planning function across the finance vertical category, consulting and B2B as assigned. Meet weekly with clients and agencies across territories of the senior sellers you are supporting and your own new business prospects, building a clear understanding of business objectives, campaign requirements, timelines, budgets, and success metrics. Represent the Reuters brand in market, confidently articulating Reuters' audience, editorial mission, and premium environment—plus competitive differentiation relevant to each pitch. Help develop integrated responses and media plans in partnership with Integrated Marketing, aligning solutions across Content Marketing, OLV, Reuters.com, and social channels. Contribute to proposal development across senior seller’s list and your own account list by gathering inputs, synthesizing insights, shaping narrative flow, coordinating pricing/packaging, and ensuring materials are accurate, compelling, and on time. Maintain rigorous Salesforce hygiene, including meeting notes, pipeline stages, next steps, and booked revenue to ensure accurate forecasting and visibility. Support quarterly account planning by partnering with your manager and senior sellers on target accounts, stakeholders, and revenue expectations—then tracking progress against plan. Coordinate campaign execution with operations and campaign leads to ensure launches are on time, optimizations are captured, and clients/agencies receive proactive check-ins. Assist with wrap reporting and renewal growth, helping deliver final campaign wrap decks with insights, outcomes, and clear next-step recommendations. Build market presence through industry events, client meetings, and agency engagement—helping Reuters stay visible and relevant across your account set.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in digital media sales, media planning, account management, sales support, or a related digital advertising role (video/native a plus).
  • Interest and/or exposure to content marketing and integrated solutions (sponsorships, custom content, OLV, and multi-channel planning).
  • A demonstrated ability to support or contribute to hitting revenue goals, with a desire to grow into a larger closing role over time.
  • Strong ability to turn client objectives into clear plans—organized thinking, strong writing, and comfort with building polished materials.
  • Experience working cross-functionally (sales, marketing, ad ops/ops, measurement), with a team-first mindset and strong follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—with the confidence to engage agency and client partners.
  • A highly detail-oriented and process-driven approach, including comfort with CRM usage (Salesforce preferred).
  • Strong prioritization and execution skills in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and curious—able to learn from performance reporting and translate results into optimization and renewal recommendations.
