Collaborate with compliance staff members to serve the needs, questions and concerns of the Liberty University community in NCAA, conference and athletic department rules and regulations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities 1. Under the direct supervision of the Assistant AD for Compliance, serves as compliance administrator for NCAA Division 1 athletic department of 20 sports programs. 2. Serve as sport specific liaison to programs as assigned by Assistant AD for Compliance Services. 3. Serve as Bylaw 15 liaison to sport programs and Student Financial Services. 4. Oversee new student-athlete education. 5. Coordinate annual coaches’ exam. 6. Manage complimentary admissions process through compliance software system. 7. Coordinate institutional monitoring systems for compliance of amateurism and athletics eligibility, recruiting and playing & practice season bylaw; including, but not limited to, student-athletes’ forms approval, off-campus recruiting activities, recruiting materials, official and unofficial visits, transportation, tryouts, camps & clinics, student-athletes employment, donation requests, countable athletically-related activities, etc. 8. Assist in NCAA initial-eligibility evaluations for all sports. 9. Input tracking database information for compliance office’s interpretations, education and violations. 10. Assist in interpreting NCAA and respective conference legislation for coaches and staff. 11. Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive rules education program for administrators, coaches, student-athletes, boosters, fans, prospective students, parents, and agents/advisors (regular emails to staff, social media management, etc.). 12. Must have a working knowledge of NCAA bylaws, and legislative, interpretive, and waiver processes. 13. Knowledge and use of NCAA technology systems; CA (Compliance Assistant), AMA (Academic and Membership Affairs) Online, LSDBi (Legislative Services Database for the internet) required. 14. Serve on institutional, conference, NCAA and professional organization committees. 15. Remain abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks. 16. Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission. 17. Duties as assigned by the Assistant AD for Compliance. Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s degree preferred. 1-3 years’ experience in an NCAA compliance office. ARMS Software system experience preferred. Effective communication both verbally and in writing. Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature. Excellent computer and organizational skills. Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
