About The Position
FOX8 WGHP is looking for someone who can bring energy, organization, and a sense of urgency to fill our open Weekend Assignment Desk position. You will help coordinate news coverage, react to breaking news, research and pitch story ideas for weekends and 3 days a week. They will also fill in on other shifts as needed. The right candidate should have excellent editorial judgement and have a keen sense of logistics.
Requirements
- Good communicator
- Available to take on-call assignments
- Listen to the scanner and respond to breaking news
- Develop and maintain contacts
- Assign crews and track them throughout the day
- Excellent editorial judgement
- Keen sense of logistics
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, or related field preferred
