About The Position

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a talented Assignment Editor & Producer based in Miami to join its news team, bringing strong editorial skills, production experience, and a passion for breaking news. This role is responsible for coordinating story development, securing high-profile guests, field producing, and ensuring coverage is compelling and relevant across both broadcast and streaming platforms.

Requirements

  • Fully Bilingual (read and write English/Spanish).
  • Know basics of editing.
  • Minimum of 2-years' experience in a newsroom required.
  • Should demonstrate good news judgement.
  • Have thorough knowledge of current affairs.
  • Detail oriented, organized, disciplined, can manage multiple tasks/responsibilities in working with tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative and assertive.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, iNews, Avid, live feeds, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, reach and sit for up to (8) hours.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-year experience as a Producer and/or Assignment Editor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Constantly monitor and respond to breaking news and developing stories across multiple platforms.
  • Monitor news wires, social media, and scanners to identify and mobilize quickly for breaking news.
  • Produce daily stories in coordination with reporters on the ground by gathering visual elements, securing video feeds, and arranging interviews relevant to their assignments.
  • Generate, research, verify, and pitch story ideas that resonate with Hispanic and multicultural audiences.
  • Secure high-profile, story-making guests, public figures, and experts.
  • Coordinate and manage live remotes, video feeds, and interview logistics under tight deadlines.
  • Work closely with writers, producers, and editors to enhance editorial quality and viewer engagement.
  • Field produce and travel when needed for major news coverage or interviews.
  • Stay well-informed on national and international current events, legal developments, and culturally relevant topics.
  • Familiar with social media tools.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays with flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives, as well as extended hours and continuous coverage.
