About The Position

The Assets Protection Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a security culture, including crisis response, safety environment, and crowd management planning. This role involves implementing daily/weekly Assets Protection workload priorities, responding to theft incidents, and partnering with store leaders on operational shortage priorities. The position requires leading a team of hourly team members and developing their skills while ensuring the store's safety and security.

Requirements

  • Age 18 or older.
  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.

Responsibilities

  • Support total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring products are in stock and available to guests.
  • Welcome and engage guests at the front of the store and on the sales floor.
  • Influence and validate physical security and safety processes.
  • Participate in store response and emergency crisis situations.
  • Create security plans for in-store events.
  • Educate teams on emergency preparedness and physical security procedures.
  • Develop, coach, and lead team members to elevate their skills.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and support talent planning.
  • Identify theft and shortage trends in the store.
  • Develop tactics to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs.
  • Own the prevention and resolution of external theft incidents.
  • Initiate, investigate, and resolve internal investigations.
  • Educate store leadership on merchandise protection best practices.
  • Communicate AP priorities to the team and leadership.
  • Build relationships with store leaders and law enforcement.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct and compliance.
  • Serve as first responder for in-store safety incidents.
  • Participate in legal proceedings as necessary.
