The Retail Asset Protection Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and profitable retail environment. This position focuses on preventing loss, deterring theft, and supporting store teams through proactive asset protection strategies while delivering a positive customer experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in asset protection, loss prevention, security, or retail preferred
- Strong observational and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of theft prevention techniques and safety procedures
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Attention to detail
- Sound judgment and integrity
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Team-oriented mindset
Responsibilities
- Monitor store activity to prevent theft, fraud, and inventory loss
- Conduct surveillance and investigations in accordance with company policies and local laws
- Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and recommend preventive measures
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation
- Assist with internal investigations related to theft or policy violations
- Support safety initiatives and emergency response procedures
- Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor as a deterrent to theft
- Collaborate with law enforcement when necessary
