We’re looking for an Asset Protection Investigator to provide investigative support and services for our Operations facility in our Santa Ana headquarters and other Collectors locations. As the Asset Protection Investigator, you will embody Do The Right Thing by protecting People, Assets, and Brands. You will work in an energized, fast paced environment focused on creating a safe environment for our employees. You’ll need to understand the big picture strategy and work with cross-functional teams and external partners. This position is expected to work independently, leveraging investigative and intelligence collection skills and building a strong (internal + external) network. You'll report to the Sr Manager, Asset Protection and work onsite 5 days from our Santa Ana, CA or Jersey City, NJ office, with occasional travel.

Requirements

• 3+ years of proven professional experience in Loss Prevention/Asset Protection, 1+ years of proven investigative experience in Loss Prevention/Asset Protection, Law Enforcement or Corporate Security with in-depth
• Excellent analytical skills and broad experience documenting investigations with the ability to think outside the box, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• In depth knowledge of security systems, basis of design concepts and specifications including access control and video monitoring systems (CCTV)
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction
• Detailed knowledge of investigative rules & techniques, proper procedure, and chain of custody with a focus on documentation and experience in preparing for, and testifying in, Local/State/Federal Court, preferred
• Experience conducting risk analyses, vulnerability and gap assessments, and physical security surveys and preparing recommendations for leadership & business partners for the elimination of procedural/policy issues that increase theft exposure, preferred

Responsibilities

• Identify and lead the mitigation of internal loss.
• Conduct investigations focusing on: High value missing/lost product Identifying trends to mitigate the possibilities of internal theft Confirming operational mishaps/errors Leveraging CCTV, handling incident Reporting, completing data Analysis
• Carry out company-wide loss prevention investigations, adhering to best practices & procedures.
• Generating clear and detailed reports & recommendations for countermeasures.
• Thoroughly document information gathered during investigations to aid in successful prosecution of suspects.
• Developing & presenting procedural improvements utilizing strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Create, maintain, and manage records using company approved methods, proper retention of evidence and disposition of evidence.
• Collaboration with external stakeholders & law enforcement - Upon successful completion of investigation, prepare professional case files and refer cases to law enforcement for prosecution. Attend hearings as required and update appropriate files with court-related outcomes.
• Conduct stationary, foot and mobile surveillances as necessary to develop case intelligence, partnering.
• Collaborate with the Collectors Security Team to progress investigations to closure. Some travel to other markets may be necessary to perform these job duties at other facilities.
• Work with the Head of Global Asset Protection to proactively identify gaps/areas of improvement with respect to digital security systems (access control, video surveillance, video storage) or physical processes that create exposure to theft.
• Maintain relationships internally with key stakeholders and leadership and externally with Local/State/Federal Law Enforcement.
