About the position

The Asset Protection Analyst is responsible for utilizing software programs to detect potential theft or fraud within Cub/Shoppers stores. This role involves collaboration with the Retail Asset Protection team to send case leads for investigation, track outcomes, and develop new queries as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Be an expert in exception reporting software, CCTV review, and case reporting software.
  • Use systems to identify and communicate incidents of theft or fraud at the store level.
  • Track case types and leads to determine successful investigation patterns.
  • Develop new queries or case types for exploration.
  • Follow up with field investigators on case outcomes and identify additional pathways used by associates.
  • Utilize Cash Over/Short and Deposit reporting to identify internal cash theft.
  • Train new Asset Protection associates and store associates on software usage.
  • Use loyalty program reporting to identify fraudulent activities by associates.
  • Assist other departments with relevant information from exception reporting software.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of Asset Protection experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CCTV system operation.
  • Experience with case report writing preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Creative and self-motivated.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to remain calm in high-emotion situations.
  • Good judgment in decision-making.
