About The Position

Performs various property management functions to support Inventory Management, Supply and Shipping/Receiving functions, to include accountability, inventory control, storage, and security of equipment, classification, identification, marking, issuing, record keeping, shipping and receiving, transportation, and support of protective force and administrative staff in accordance with applicable regulations. Manages the issuance of supplies and equipment to protective force and administrative staff. This includes managing inventory levels, processing requisitions, conducting spot checks, and resolving any discrepancies. Maints standard issue documents, tracks shoe reimbursements, and processes laundry invoices. Performs alterations and repairs on uniforms, creates nametags, and works on various fabric items as needed. Conducts preventative maintenance on sewing machines, orders necessary supplies, and manages access to the sewing area. Processes excess property by removing name tags and bagging according to requirements, while also verifying timely pickups. Prepares and submits Declaration of Available Assets for retirement of property. Reviews government requirements to accurately classify assets for appropriate disposition (e.g., disposal, demilitarization, export control, capital equipment, high-risk/dual-use). Determines the appropriate method of disposition and coordinates effectively with site personnel. Screens assets for potential reutilization within the facility or broader government network, explains excess property procedures to employees, and ensures complete sanitization and certification of Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) prior to disposition. Prepares necessary forms for property transfers to other federal agencies and maintains strict control of reclassified contraband. Performs additional property, supply, shipping, and receiving duties as needed to meet operational deadlines and support overall department objectives. Assists with the preparation of documentation for internal and external auditors and provides physical assistance with loading, unloading, and stocking equipment and supplies. Must perform all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in Procedure 1-3100 and adhere to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.

Requirements

  • Reading, writing, and basic computer skills.
  • Three years of experience performing any combination of property management, shipping/ receiving, and supply functions, including acquisition, utilization, classification, identification, labeling, storage, accountability, inventory, record keeping, disposition of personal property, receiving, and shipping.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L Security Clearance.
