The Asset Locator is responsible tracing and locating consumers and/or consumers' attachable assets in compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (F.D.C.P.A.). This open position would join a team of six (6) with an average of 20 years of service with the firm. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks: Traces whereabouts of consumers with the intention of finding a current address, utilizing both printed and on-line resources. Once a new address is located the Asset Locator requests the reissue of complaint Locates and verifies employment/property ownership, requests property liens and wage garnishments as applicable Locates/verifies bank accounts and requests bank attachments When there are no attachable assets the asset locator reviews the credit bureau trade lines to identify the creditor that a Subpoena for documentation should be sent to Meets pre-determined monthly quotas, specific quality and volume requirements for designated activities. Analyzes issues, makes decisions and follows up with peers and management Builds appropriate rapport and establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external clients, gaining their trust and respect Telephones possible consumer phone leads to verify right party and may transfer to Legal Account Resolution Specialists Ensures accounts are updated with new information as it is obtained Complete all required training applicable to this position Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position Other duties, as assigned
