About The Position

General Job Description: Develop and maintain computerized inventory of all maintenance tools, large and small equipment, parts and use materials. Keep accurate maintenance records and inspect vehicles for safety on a monthly basis making repairs as needed. Issue and maintain truck and equipment keys. Develop and coordinate a method of easy and efficient equipment (including trailers) and tool check-out to have tools ready and accessible for project use the next business day. Maintain barcode tracking of all equipment. Ensure all equipment signed out daily is connected to a work order assignment and data input into computerized inventory program. Inspect all equipment and tools returned to shop for wear and tear or damage to include custodial equipment. Coordinate with District Facilities Manager when large and small tools need to be replaced. Report any damage to equipment immediately to District Facilities Manager. Fire extinquisher inspections. Assist with irrigation pumps. Welding and fabrication. Assist in the field when needed. Obtain quotes for tools, parts and materials. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a current valid driver’s license, clean driving record and participate in a defensive driving course.
  • Mechanical abilities, good judgment, communication skills.
  • Must work well with staff members inside and outside of the department.
  • Must be reliable and have a conscientious work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair small engines a plus.
  • Need to be self-motivated in keeping equipment properly maintained and ready for use by team members.
