About The Position

Position responsibilities include operations, strategic planning and initiatives, and performance of the Asset and Innovation Management workgroup. The position functions in four core service areas: 1) project management, coordination, and performance management, 2) infrastructure and asset management, 3) geospatial and non-geospatial management and analytics, and 4) systems architecture and integration. The incumbent is responsible for the integrity of Municipal Services & Operations (MSO) systems (software and hardware) and data, and coordination and collaboration with stakeholders, and ensuring integrated and sustainable solutions. Works closely with the senior leadership to ensure alignment with enterprise strategic initiatives, governance, infrastructure management, and resource management. This position requires extensive knowledge of the systems and data management, technical abilities, superior customer service skills, problem-solving abilities, good interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and an innovative spirit. Duties include, but are not limited to: managing innovation initiatives, managing integration planning; lifecycle project planning and management; geospatial management and application dissemination, data integrity and confidence, creating, maintaining, and tracking project plans and schedules, ensuring strategic initiatives are met and aligned. Developing and executing asset management plans for infrastructure lifecycles. Fostering coordination and collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring integrated and sustainable solutions, as well as project consensus. Provides leadership, management, and strategic vision for the technology and asset management programs. Manage enterprise integration planning; lifecycle project planning and management; data integrity and confidence, create, maintain, and track project plans and schedules, ensuring strategic initiatives are met and aligned. Supervises technical staff with respect to accountability of performance and behavior, including approval of leave to conform with personnel needs, discipline of employees, staff development functions, completion of performance evaluations, and other personnel related functions. Participates in the hiring and promotional process. Assigns work, checks progress and determines assignment deadlines. Foster coordination and collaborate with stakeholders, ensuring integrated and sustainable solutions, as well as project consensus. Supports the development of the annual operating budget and ensures alignment with operating objectives and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business management, public administration, operations management, geospatial technologies, geography, computer science, or a closely related discipline. Seven years of experience may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Minimum 8 years of related experience, a combination of geospatial technologies, project management, asset management, operational management, and technical experience.
  • Three years of combined supervisory or management experience.
  • Knowledge of asset information management systems, geospatial technologies, operational technologies, analytics and visualization, and organizational and management practices as applied to enterprise needs.
  • Ability to problem solve and manage improvements and technology solutions with high accountability in a collaborative work environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory City background check, and post-offer City physical and drug screen required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree or graduate hours is an asset.
  • Experience with a municipality and/or public infrastructure and services is preferred.
