The Assessment Counselor is responsible for facilitating all assessment services for the program, in line with facility standards and the clinical philosophy of the program. This role involves conducting screenings and assessments, ensuring appropriate client placement, and coordinating with other clinical team members to support effective care delivery.

Requirements

  • While holding these credentials is preferred, we welcome applicants who are eligible and committed to pursuing the necessary certification or licensure (CADC, CAADC, or Master’s-level) with our support.
  • Hold a Master’s Degree in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, or counseling with current licensure (LMFT, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Hold a Master’s Degree in one of the above fields and be actively working toward licensure or certification (such as a CAADC).
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree and a CADC (or be working toward one), along with at least one year of clinical experience.
  • Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent with a CAAC.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screenings and level of care assessments, using clinical knowledge and skills, and communicate the process with clients.
  • Collect demographic and historical information relevant to the level of care assessment (LOCA).
  • Complete precertification for all managed care clients when applicable.
  • Facilitate the admission process, collaborating with appropriate clinical team members.
  • Complete all assessment, admission, and related paperwork in a timely manner, including Releases of Information (ROIs) and other admission documents.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments as required.
  • Develop initial treatment plans for clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
