About The Position

The Assessment Coordinator evaluates the needs of walk-in clients and phone callers to ensure appropriate referrals to services or resources. They schedule initial psychiatric assessments for individuals seeking treatment for substance use, dual diagnoses, or emotional and psychiatric conditions, presenting symptoms to psychiatrists for care recommendations. The coordinator also triages patients to alternative providers when needed, responds to inquiries about treatment and facility services, documents calls, sets appointments, and works closely with the business office to ensure a smooth admission process.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
  • Must have strong clinical assessment skills.
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) within 30 days.
  • May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • With proper credentials, Coordinator may be required to complete vitals check on patients.
