About The Position

Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Programs and Communication, the Assessment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating Associated Students’ (AS) assessment, planning, and evaluation efforts to ensure the effectiveness, equity, and continuous improvement of AS programs, services, and operations. This position leads organization-wide assessment efforts, supports data-informed decision-making, and provides training and consultation to staff and student leaders.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
  • Equivalent to a minimum of two (2) years of professional-level experience managing assessment projects, program evaluation, or program review.
  • Ability to translate assessment data into actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of student development theory and learning outcomes.
  • Proficiency with survey tools and data analysis software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and working effectively in a multicultural environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Public Administration, Research Methods, or a related field.
  • Experience assessing student learning and development in co-curricular or student organization settings.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and analyzing assessments using a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion lens.
  • Experience conducting qualitative research, including focus groups and interviews.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the design, coordination, and implementation of organization-wide assessment initiatives for Associated Students. Responsibilities include developing assessment plans; collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data; preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations; supporting program review; and translating findings into actionable recommendations that inform decision-making, planning, and continuous improvement.
  • Integrates Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles into assessment and evaluation practices. Develops and facilitates DEI- and equity-minded assessment trainings for AS staff and student leaders; supports tracking and documentation of required trainings and compliance-related activities (e.g., DEI, Title IX, workplace conduct, as applicable to AS); and conducts disaggregated data analysis to identify equity gaps and inform inclusive practices.
  • Supports strategic, annual, and long-term planning efforts through assessment and data analysis. Drafts and revises assessment-related policies, procedures, and guidelines; conducts benchmarking and best-practice research; and coordinates special projects and initiatives, including timelines, documentation, and progress reporting.
  • Serves on committees, working groups, and program review teams; provides consultation and technical assistance to AS departments on assessment and evaluation; and collaborates with campus partners as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the department mission and goals.
