About The Position
Vera French Community Mental Health Center is looking for a compassionate and driven Registered Nurse to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team - a dynamic, community-based program that meets clients where they are and helps them thrive. This is a full-time, first-shift position with rotating on-call responsibilities. Why This Role Matters As an ACT Nurse, you won't just provide care - you'll change lives. You'll work directly in the community, supporting individuals with complex mental health needs as they build independence, stability, and meaningful connections. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Minimum six months of psychiatric nursing experience
- Current Iowa RN license
- Valid driver's license with insurable driving record
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical, drug, and alcohol screening
Nice To Haves
- ANCC Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (Generalist) certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing services, case management, and supportive counseling
- Monitor, administer, and educate clients about medications
- Review lab results and collaborate with the team prescriber
- Assess physical health needs and coordinate appropriate referrals
- Teach independent living skills
- Help clients access housing, employment, and community resources
- Support clients in building strong, sustainable community networks
