A little about us Since 1971, the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board has provided the highest quality of behavioral health services to residents of the cities of Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, offering a comprehensive array of programs for both children and adults living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders. Your day to day as a License Eligible ACT Supervisor As an ACT Supervisor at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing mental health services for our clients. You will personally perform and supervise a dedicated team focused on conducting comprehensive mental status evaluations and client assessments, developing tailored service plans, and ensuring seamless connections to essential service providers. Your expertise will guide staff through complex cases, while you oversee the monitoring and documentation of client progress, crisis intervention, and client advocacy. You will also engage in developing individualized treatment plans and facilitate discharge planning, ensuring clients receive the after-care they need. In addition to training and orienting new team members, you will coordinate strategies that align with divisional objectives and collaborate with various community partners, including law enforcement and healthcare providers. As a leader committed to policy improvement and resource management, your contributions will directly impact the effectiveness of our mental health programming and the lives of those we serve. What we're looking for in a License Eligible ACT Supervisor To thrive as an ACT Supervisor at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills, preferably with prior management experience in a clinical setting. Proficiency in utilizing software tools for assessments and program enrollment is essential, with the ability to manage service request authorizations for insurance companies.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention and case management functions with individuals with serious mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Must provide proof of registration for supervision toward licensure with the Virginia Department of Health Professionals (LPC or LCSW) within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Proficiency in utilizing software tools for assessments and program enrollment
  • Ability to manage service request authorizations for insurance companies.
