This position is a job production-type position that incorporates several skills, but does not require all of these skills, as we are happy to train! Requirements
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to recognize parts, disassemble and reassemble components/assemblies based on verbal and written instructions as well as intuition.
- Electrical Aptitude: Upfitters will be required to route and install electrical wires on each build. An ability to understand circuits, connections and reading diagrams is required.
- Reading a Tape Measure: Refrigeration unit installations require attention to detail, making the ability to read a tape measure accurately crucial.
- Basic Mathematics: Upfitters will be working with regulated refrigerants. Which will require them to pay close attention to scales, pressures, and other readings. These readings will be used in basic calculations during various parts of the installation and troubleshooting processes.
- Problem Solving: Refrigeration Upfitters will be working to not only install units but ensure their functionality as well. This means that they will need to be able to recognize issues, trouble shoot, and fix them accordingly. The ability to think critically ensures success in this position.
- Attention to Detail: All parts of the refrigeration process, from installation to rolling the vehicle out the door, require attention to detail. This role requires routing of hoses, wires, handling refrigerant and recording accurate data. This all requires the technician to pay close attention and do their best to ensure we are putting out a good product.
