About The Position

SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 8,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer's specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States. SEC capabilities expand beyond traditional manufacturing to further include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent (GED)
• 2-4 years' experience in compression related assembly or field environment.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read tape measures and rulers in increments of 1/16".
• Basic mathematic ability to add and subtract fractions, decimals and whole numbers.
• Must have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the assembly department.
• Must have knowledge of OSHA requirements as related to structural platforms, ladders and stairs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall structural fitting and welding within an assembly team.
• Reads shop notes, general arrangement and process flow diagrams and structural drawings.
• Reads measuring devices such as tape measures, rulers and pressure gauges.
• Fabricates and installs all types of steel structures such as: platforms, stairs, ladders, supports, braces including beam type upper structures on compressor skids.
• Welds all fabricated structures using both SMAW and GMAW. (Plate Test required)
• Disassembles components to replace defective parts or to prepare them for shipping.
• Operates a variety of portable hand, electric and air powered tools such as impact wrenches, torque wrenches, combination wrenches, sockets, ratchets, band saw and grinders.
• Operates stationary tools such as bench grinder, iron worker, drill press and chop saw.
• Operates lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and jib cranes which is inclusive of rigging experience.
• Reports problems to line supervisor and actively participates in resolutions to problems.
• Perform job duties in a safe manner and according to company safety procedures.
• Reports potential safety hazards to supervisor and actively participates in resolutions to safety hazards.
• Effectively follows oral and written instructions and communicates them to others as needed.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments and workers.
• Actively participates in product development and improvements.
• Performs the above and other duties as required with minimal supervision.
