About The Position

Under the supervision of the Assembly Supervisor and additional input from the Plant Manager, the Assembly Trainer is responsible for training new Assembly employees. Utilizing both the Assembly training cell as well as assembly lines, train new employees how to properly use assembly hand tools, follow process and procedures to comply with ISO 13485 and FDA regulations. This training will emphasize following procedures, training with enough depth to switch between assembly lines and have employees know when to raise concerns to prevent quality defects. When there are no active training sessions, the Assembly Trainer will lead the rework and repair (approximately 50%) of medical assemblies and components to restore them to specifications. If capacity allows, the employee will support production of electromechanical assemblies in the Controlled Environment Room (CER).

Responsibilities

  • Training and Onboarding
  • Responsible for leading and instructing other workers on how to assemble mechanical components according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Duties include developing and delivering training, mentoring newly hired assemblers, developing training materials, and creating visual aids.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards and providing hands-on guidance for complex assembly tasks.
  • Reinforce process discipline, ESD practices, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Observe trainees to verify understanding, skill development, and adherence to procedures.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors on trainee performance and readiness for production release.
  • Continuously improve the training curriculum to align with product and process needs.
  • Rework, Repair, and Assembly
  • Perform investigation, disassembly, repair, and re-assembly of electro-mechanical medical assemblies and components.
  • Conduct electrical, mechanical, and functional testing to verify product performance after repair.
  • Document all work performed in device history records (DHR) and service logs to maintain complete traceability.
  • Identify recurring failures or trends and escalate findings to Quality Assurance & Process Engineering
  • Maintain calibration and cleanliness of service tools, ESD-safe workstations, and test equipment.
