About The Position

As our Assembly and Test Technician, you will assemble, test, inspect, clean and package electromechanical systems and sub systems, such as control rod drive mechanisms, in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent is required. An associate's degree in mechanical or electronic technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in a precision Electromechanical Assembly & Test environment.
  • Must be available and willing to work any shift based on business needs; some daily and weekend overtime will be required to support A&T schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality processes and outcomes.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Ability to follow detailed engineering instructions and adapt to varying tasks.
  • Comfort and ability to perform work from ladders and elevated platforms safely.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test control rod drive mechanisms and sub-assembly components, including AC stators and DC coils.
  • Conduct assembly and test operations on development products according to detailed engineering instructions, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Inspect, clean, and package products ready for shipment, maintaining quality standards throughout the process.
  • Perform various electrical measurements, including resistance, insulation resistance, and dielectric strength tests on AC/DC circuits.
  • Document measurements and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Perform precision mechanical adjustments to complex, high-value components to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Maintain assembly and test facility equipment, ensuring that all tools and machinery are in good working condition and properly calibrated.
  • Regularly conduct preventative maintenance checks to avoid disruptions in production schedules.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Assembly and Test facility to meet MIL-STD-767 requirements, promoting a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of cleanliness and orderliness.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, which may include special projects or tasks that align with the department's objectives.
