The position is for an Assembler Technician II in the Military Aircraft Group, reporting to the Assembly and Test Supervisor, with an onsite work schedule in Torrance, CA.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written, and computer work instructions or training in English.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • 1 year or more of Assembly experience (mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, or electronic).
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is a plus.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Assembly experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Experience performing precision assembly and test of hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical flight actuators.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Experience with diagnosing/troubleshooting mechanical components and test failures.
  • Basic computer program skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair actuators.
  • Adjust or align through shimming and other means of mechanical adjustments specified by blueprint or other specification limits.
  • Utilize a variety of mechanical measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers, and indicating micrometers to obtain proper assembly-build requirements.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy on assemblies utilizing torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages, and other measuring devices.
  • Work from assembly instructions, both written and oral.
  • Perform various test operations on production or repair mechanical or hydraulic actuators using necessary hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic test equipment, fixtures, and tools.
  • Diagnose common test failures and recommend or perform rework to correct discrepancies.
  • Hold problem units for engineering disposition.
  • Ensure that units are set up and tested in conformance with current revision letters and bring to the Supervisor’s attention any condition that is abnormal.
  • Responsible for testing repair models for conformance to acceptance test procedures.
  • Utilize mechanical or electronic measuring equipment and perform tests to validate the acceptance of the model to current test requirements.
  • Order parts as necessary utilizing the RUR and WDS systems.
  • Responsible for proper documentation of parts replaced and work performed on data sheets.
