Large Power Systems Division (LPSD): W e design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains. What You Will Do (including but not limited to): Are you looking for an opportunity to learn a specialized skill within a manufacturing environment? As an Assembly and Test Specialist. You will continuously improve process efficiency by performing routine assembly and test of assemblies of our prime product. Training is paid and held during 1st shift for 4-6 weeks at the facility. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be responsible for:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends
  • Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork
  • A mechanical background or industrial assembly experiences
  • Caterpillar will train applicants who have a strong employment history and work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Assembling / testing, reworking and repairing machine components
  • Operate test machines to test final drive assemblies
  • Prepare prime products and attachments for shipping
  • Performs required salvage operations in assembly areas as necessary
  • Disassemble and reassemble complex assemblies to repair or replace damages component parts
  • May operate remote control crane to specially equipped vehicles to transport prime product
