The Aftermarket Pump Mechanic must comply with Parker HSD test specifications, customer test requirements and request changes through Quality Assurance and Engineering disciplines. This position involves disassembling, cleaning, and evaluating field return units, performing functional testing prior to returning units to service, and assisting in configuration control. You will work with minimal supervision and ensure compliance with assembly instructions, overhaul manuals, military technical orders, and blueprints.

  • Prepare for assembly or disassembly of Aftermarket units or complex subassemblies by unwrapping and inspecting components for cleanliness and/or damage.
  • Responsible for preparation of paperwork and computer records for identification and traceability of components and accurate completion of traveler documentation.
  • Clean, disassemble, evaluate, assemble, test, troubleshoot, certify, and button-up Aftermarket components and complex subassemblies as required by Repair Orders.
  • Work from test specifications, blueprints, or special directives from Engineering.
  • Provide source data to CAs for job cost estimates.
  • Execute daily assembly and test assignments as directed while operating under the FIFO principle.
  • Confer with manufacturing engineers and supervision to ensure deviations from routine are authorized.
  • Work with, repair, and build wiring harnesses with solderless and solder type connections.
  • Read, interpret and work from blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Test units to the applicable specifications and report any questionable characteristics.
  • Originate neat and legible paperwork and maintain other records required for performance of the job.
  • Maintain the work area in a neat condition and take proper care of all tools, gauges, and equipment.
  • Instruct other employees within the areas of primary function.
  • Coordinate carry-over jobs with the next shift as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities/efforts with the classification/department.
  • Work with both red oil and Skydrol oils while meeting the physical requirements of the job.
  • Become certified and qualified in multiple product families within 45 days of reaching the top of the wage progression.
  • Ability to disassemble, clean, and evaluate field return units.
  • Experience in performing functional testing prior to returning units to service.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of assembly instructions, overhaul manuals, military technical orders, and blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience in working with wiring harnesses and soldering.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with Parker HSD test specifications.
  • Previous experience in a similar mechanic role.
