About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)/Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) to provide support in cradle to grave efforts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of specialized experience which demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
  • Associate's degree
  • Significant hands-on experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems assembly operations
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical assembly operations and techniques, utilizing basic and advanced technical practices
  • Ability to read and interpret models, drawings, schematics, and technical orders
  • Ability to install, modify, test, repair, overhaul, calibrate, maintain, evaluate, and certify performance of complex integrated electronic and mechanical systems.
  • Execute the safe and effective operation of various specialty lifting devices and equipment, design-built and common hand tooling, unique tooling and fixturing for assembly operations, electrical test equipment, and other specialized tools, attention to detail, and a high level of responsibility to ensure the protection of people, equipment, and materials.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive assembly procedures for test devices and vehicles.
  • AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
  • U.S. Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Security Clearance Required: Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Responsibilities

  • Support flight experiment launch integration tasks, including: Packing, protecting, and shipping flight experiment and support equipment to the launch site.
  • Support of hardware and software integration efforts in preparation for flight experiment launch, including mechanical installation, functional testing, blanketing, fueling, inspection, fairing closeout, range safety procedures, and day of launch processes.
  • Draft, prepare, revise, and review design documentation including, but not limited to: User’s guides. Test Processes/Procedures. Safety Plans.
