Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide the way we do business. Space Systems Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an Assembly Technician to work in our Iuka, MS Integration Facility. Primary Responsibilities This position will be responsible for assembly and integration activities to assemble high quality, energetic rocket motor components. The candidate will be responsible for working on a team of technicians to perform hazardous assembly operations with a primary focus on safety of personnel. The candidate will work on a team of two to four people performing assembly, bonding, and lift operations on rocket motor components.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma and 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working on teams.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an ATF employee possessor license for explosives
  • Must be able to complete government forms as necessary for inventory of energetic materials
  • Demonstrated experience in following detailed processes and capable of interfacing with computer systems to document manufacturing and quality requirements of component assembly
  • Candidate must be able to climb stairs and lift 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, design engineers, analysts, manufacturing, project management and customer representatives
  • Previous experience in performing bonding operations for aerospace components.
  • Previous experience in handling and assembly of energetic components is desired
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and ability to work with multiple interfaces
