About The Position

This position works closely with maintenance, engineering and scheduling to identify priorities and effectively coordinate Pen/Pencil/Wrapper activities. Will lead and direct all operators/packers in the designated cells. This position also includes trouble shooting, performing all machine adjustments and change overs.

  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Drive for Results.
  • Visual aptitude - must be able to see, with or without correction.
  • Communication - ability to communicate verbally or non-verbally.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Flexibility to work any shift.
  • Ability to work overtime or call-ins as necessary.
  • Ability to perform standing consecutively throughout assigned shift.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, reach and grasp for varying periods of time during assigned shift.
  • 3 years’ experience in Assembly/Manufacturing required.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead employees and maintain results by coaching, counseling and implementing cultural change and accountability within the designated cells.
  • Resolves maintenance and setup issues by active collaboration with maintenance, engineering and quality.
  • Prioritizes and executes planned production and change overs.
  • Assist with maintaining equipment condition through daily and weekly TPM actions.
  • Assure employees in the cell adhere to safety standards and exhibit safe work behaviors.
  • Responsible for keeping running tab of machine/material issues, current conditions to be reported in shift production meeting, including daily pass down between shifts.
  • Accountable for operators/packers daily 6’s activities.
  • Ensure standard quality checks are performed properly and regularly by team members in the area, producing within specified scrap limit.
  • Ensure correct material is ordered and returned after completing work order.
  • Responsible for all cell scrap, orange tag, work order, order change, sample request, etc… data is collected and distributed as directed.
  • Assist and train cell operators on analysis and tracking of OEE. Make setup / change over improvement recommendations based on data.
