About The Position

NW Service Enterprises, Inc. (NWS) Professional Assembly is seeking candidates for the Assembly Technician position. This role involves working on-site at local Retail Stores, such as Lowe's, to assemble merchandise and displays. Products to be assembled include Barbecues, Wheelbarrows, Lawn Tractors, Work Benches, and Furniture. The available work is seasonal, with fluctuations depending on the time of year, typically spiking from Spring through Summer and again during the Holidays. The company offers flexible scheduling, accommodating both part-time and full-time preferences. Compensation is performance-based; after training, pay transitions to a piece rate, where new technicians typically earn between $17 and $25 per hour, and experienced technicians can average upwards of $30 per hour based on productivity. Employees are guaranteed to earn no less than the local minimum wage. Success in this role is tied to learning products, developing efficient techniques, and increasing speed, which directly impacts earnings. Ideal candidates are handy, enjoy hands-on mechanical work, are physically active, and comfortable working independently. The role requires prolonged standing, sustained physical activity, repetitive hand and arm motions, and maintaining a steady pace.

Requirements

  • Day-shift/early morning availability
  • Self-motivated: able to work hard with minimal supervision
  • A mechanical aptitude: you are handy

  • Internet access via a smartphone or mobile device
  • Ability to pass a background test
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply
  • Reliable transportation
  • Capable of working on your feet for extended periods
  • Kneel, bend, twist, and lift 50+ pounds repeatedly

Responsibilities

  • Assembly and repair products and merchandise, using manufacturer instructions while adhering to retailer rules and guidelines.
  • Provide excellent customer service, building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Check in with Retailer management to confirm the build list and inventory.
  • Generate and complete invoices daily.
  • Report and communicate effectively with your Area Manager.
  • Maintain a safe, clean workspace and leave clients with a clean build area.
