About The Position

Are you skilled in assembling and wiring robotic systems? At Igus Inc., we re looking for a Assembly Technician to join our fast-paced team building low-cost, high-impact automation solutions. In this role, you ll take robotics kits and components from concept to fully assembled systems, ensuring they are ready for engineers to program and deploy.

Requirements

  • 1- 5 years of experience in mechanical assembly and electrical wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Strong understanding of motors, sensors, controllers, and basic electronics.
  • Hands-on skills with tools and equipment for assembly and testing.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotics kits, industrial automation components, or custom automation builds.

Responsibilities

  • Robotics Assembly: Build and assemble robotic systems and automation hardware according to specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Electrical Wiring & Integration: Wire up motors, controllers, sensors, and other components to ensure systems are fully functional and ready for programming.
  • Quality & Testing: Perform initial checks and functional tests to verify proper assembly and wiring before handoff to engineers.
  • Collaborate with Engineers: Work closely with automation engineers to ensure systems meet design requirements and are optimized for programming and deployment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly steps, wiring diagrams, and any modifications for future reference and troubleshooting.
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements to assembly processes and contribute to building scalable, repeatable solutions.
