Role Summary: The Assembly Technician is a skilled, hands-on contributor responsible for manufacturing and production-level assembly of electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components. Following established work instructions and procedures, this role assembles, tests, and troubleshoots hardware while also setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment. The Assembly Technician completes accurate production documentation and supports quality control efforts to ensure efficiency, consistency, and high standards of workmanship. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Assembly Technician works closely with cross-functional team members to meet production schedules, solve problems, and contribute to a positive, high-performing team environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-5 years of experience as an electromechanical technician, assembler, or in a similar hands-on technical role
  • Solid mechanical aptitude regarding electromechanical assembly and the tools/equipment used to manufacture products, with experience in precision assembly and component fitting
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems in a production environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills witha demonstrated passion for operational excellence, innovation, and finding solutions as problems arise
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility in customer, supplier, and co-worker interactions
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues to drive projects to successful completion in a team environment
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts in evolving environments while adjusting work approaches to address complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to be meticulous and thorough in completing work tasks, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to specifications and standards
  • Efficiently manages time to meet production deadlines
  • Able to perform assigned tasks independently with moderate supervision in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Basic computer skills for inventory management, using manufacturing software, or entering production data
  • Clean driving record, and the ability to drive with a trailer and pass a Commercial Driver Fitness Determination

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field
  • 2-5 years of experience assembling and testing complex mechanical products
  • 2-5 years hands-on experience with tools and equipment: familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machinery
  • Forklift or Crane Certification: If the role requires operating heavy machinery
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Safety Certifications: OSHA certification or similar workplace safety certification

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, integrate, and test electromechanical systems, including electrical components, mechanical parts, and wiring, while interpreting and following blueprints, technical diagrams, procedures, work instructions, and forms. Operate production and test equipment.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes. Drive company vehicles and trailers as required.
  • Complete production work orders, checklists, test reports, and other forms accurately.
  • Build technical skills through on-the-job learning, cross-training, and collaboration with senior technicians. Apply feedback and coaching to expand knowledge of assembly processes and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Foster effective communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
  • Contribute to efforts to enhance production processes to increase efficiency and quality. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality and technical issues.
  • Uphold industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines in all activities.
