Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent & formal training in a specialized field achieving A&P license or equivalent OR 4 years of technical high school including technical post high school certification and 5+ years of heavy automotive experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an aerospace mechanic or A&P mechanic preferred.
  • 3 + years avionics mechanic experience.
  • In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of leader/supervisor, follow assembly drawings and/or specifications and computer information systems to prepare parts and build subassemblies, modules and accessories for new gas turbine engines where tooling and process methods are established.
  • Perform similar duties assisting with engine test operations and performing component and accessory tests as assigned.
  • Use overhaul and repair procedures and specifications to perform the mechanical work to overhaul engines, modules and related components.
  • Obtain parts, check details for conformance to assembly requirements and fit and measure components to assure overall dimensions are within limits specified.
  • Use mechanic’s hand tools, holding fixtures, and specialized assembly equipment to build engine sections and perform installation of details and maintain equipment and tooling for assigned areas.
  • Provide related support for test operations and assist with testing under direct supervision and specific test schedules.
  • Perform similar duties to assist with co-producer, customer support or other similar programs, retrofit projects and to accommodate new engine programs and assist with changes in specifications.
