About The Position

The Assembly Technician II takes on complex assembly tasks and ensures the accuracy and quality of assembled components. This role involves working independently and providing support to junior team members while adhering to safety and compliance standards. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 1+ years' experience as an assembly technician or in a related field.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • A good understanding of manufacturing, production, or warehouse environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex assembly instructions and blueprints.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Certification in intermediate soldering or electronics assembly.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex components and subassemblies according to detailed instructions and blueprints.
  • Perform quality inspections and tests on assembled products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic assembly issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate assembly tools and equipment.
  • Document and report production activities and any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior assembly technicians.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve assembly processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
