About The Position

The Assembly Technician II is an experienced role responsible for mastering all assembly processes within a designated manufacturing cell and ensuring high-quality production of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analyzers. This position requires advanced technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a strong understanding of the production flow. The technician will lead portions of daily management activities, troubleshoot issues independently, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities Assembly/Alignment Operations: Perform and own all assembly tasks within the assigned process (e.g., optic assembly for multiple product groups such as BT, Petra, Zspec). Apply advanced knowledge to solve problems and resolve issues across all tasks in the process. Use hand and power tools for integration of mechanical and electrical components. Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures Possibility of being involved in alignment processes of different products. Documentation & Compliance: Complete travelers, paperwork, and maintain accurate records of assembly activities. Adhere to precise manufacturing and quality control standards, including routine inspections and documented verification. Follow compliance and safety standards relevant to radiation and equipment handling. Quality & Continuous Improvement: Participate in 5S activities and maintain an organized work area. Support lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to process improvements. Recognize and resolve typical production problems such as minor equipment malfunctions or material inconsistencies using established options or precedents. Inventory & Material Handling: Assist with inventory management tasks as needed, ensuring material availability for production flow. Maintenance & Safety: Support routine cleaning and maintenance of the work area. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance requirements. Troubleshooting & Support: Independently troubleshoot and resolve issues within the cell using standard work, judgment, and available resources without supervisory approval. Utilize problem-solving skills to maintain production continuity and quality standards. Leadership & Team Integration Lead portions of the Daily Management Board activities as a backup to the main lead. Understand how individual tasks relate to team objectives and overall cell responsibilities. Demonstrate awareness of production line flow and integration with other teams, ensuring the end product meets specifications.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing assembly or related technical role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Understanding of production flow and team integration
  • Effective communication and leadership capabilities for supporting daily management activities
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Capability to lift and handle components as required by the role
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, technical certification or vocational training preferred
  • Proficiency in all assembly processes within the assigned cell
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Skilled in using hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical assembly
