Requirements

  • Minimum -- High School Diploma.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory level in Manufacturing (preferred).
  • Ability to lead and manage a team by training, coaching, and motivating.
  • Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Type accurately.
  • Prioritize tasks and be able to switch tasks as needed.
  • Ability to follow and teach precise processes.
  • Ability to be trained to drive and use all types of forklifts.
  • Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • WMS/WCS experience (SAP a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Supervise employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work with Operations Supervisor to plan and assign work.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed.
  • Recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
  • Manage throughput and continuous quality improvements within general guidelines of Lean manufacturing.
  • Perform duties and share goals as part of a participative work team.
  • Regularly communicate with Supervisor, team members and support personnel about issues impacting product, production, quality and safety across shifts and departments.
  • Provide input to Supervisor related to budgeting of tooling, materials, etc.
  • Schedule day-to-day work and staffing (vacations/absences) of work team.
  • Use problem solving techniques to analyze, find root cause and permanently correct problems related to all aspects of cell operation.
  • Provide direct input to Supervisor regarding the evaluation of team members' performance and take appropriate disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Fill in for assigned team members to maintain work flow.
  • Assist Supervisor with leading personnel in day-to-day requirements; conduct team meetings, provide regular performance feedback and track performance of team members.
  • Assist Supervisor with the supervision of personnel, including hiring and retention, performance management and discipline.
  • Assist with department planning over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results.
