Job Overview: We’re seeking an experienced Assembly Pace Setter to lead day-to-day production activities in our assembly area. This frontline lead coordinates team activities, assigns tasks, coaches teammates, and helps ensure products are assembled correctly, safely, and on time. This role provides direction and mentoring but does not carry formal supervisory authority for personnel actions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production assembly environment, including hands-on welding and assembly of stainless steel sheet metal.
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Able to perform and rotate through every position within the assigned area.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read and interpret production paperwork and schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, coach team members, and drive on-time, quality production.
  • Must be able to follow safety protocols and PPE requirements.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must be physically able to lift, bend, reach, and carry components and assemblies as required.
  • Comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing tools (Kanban, 5S, Standard Work) and experience maintaining visual controls is highly desirable.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to initiate corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct workers and materials in the assigned area to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor assembly processes and promptly identify, report, and help correct non-conformances.
  • Ensure hour-by-hour production targets are met or exceeded by engaging the team, troubleshooting problems, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain workflow of materials and personnel including setups and preventative maintenance coordination.
  • Operate and be proficient with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment; perform stainless steel sheet metal welding and assembly tasks as needed.
  • Work across all positions within the assigned area and, when required, assist in adjacent areas to meet production demand.
  • Establish and maintain visual factory controls such as Kanban, Standard Work, Hour-by-Hour tracking, 5S, and Layered Audits.
  • Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Keep work area clean and organized and follow all quality and safety requirements.
  • Mentor less experienced employees and train new hires; provide hands-on leadership and support.
